Active preparation time: 45 minutes
Number of servings: 6
Dish type: Main, side
Level: Intermediate
Ingredients:
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 large potatoes
- 2 zucchini
- 3 pears
- 1/2 cups of cream
- 3 cloves of garlic
- 1 pinch dried rosemary
- 10 fresh sage leaves
- 3 1/2 ounces cheddar
- 1 teaspoons salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
Directions:
Step 1:
Heat the cream in a saucepan with chopped garlic, rosemary and whole sage leaves. Turn off the heat and let steep, covered.
Step 2:
Meanwhile, peel the potatoes and sweet potatoes. Steam until they are tender ( 20-30 minutes). Allow to cool, then cut into thin slices.
Step 3:
Peel pears and cut them into strips along with zucchini (no need to peel them).
Step 4:
Butter a round baking dish. Fill the dish, alternating 1 row of potatoes, 1 row of pears, 2 rows of sweet potatoes and 2 rows of zucchini (place them tightly against each other to make them stand upright).
Step 5:
Remove the sage leaves in the sauce. Add salt and pepper, to taste, and pour over the vegetable slices. Sprinkle with grated cheddar.
Step 6:
Bake for about 1 hour in a preheated oven at 390°F (200°c).
